The 7th International SAOT Workshop on Optical Metrology which is focused on "Absorption and Emission Spectroscopy" will be held in Erlangen on July 15/16, 2009. Similar to the earlier ones, this workshop is not a typical scientific conference but rather an event which is designed in particular for all the doctoral candidates of SAOT and their mentors. All speakers are informed that it is part of the SAOT education program and that the majority of the audience will not be very familiar with the different measurement techniques covered in the talks. Thus, the speakers are asked to present a broad introduction into the techniques before discussing recent results.
