Canada-France-Germany Young Photonic Researcher Workshop

Canada, France and Germany are active in photonics and each has specific strengths. Although each country entertains research activities in most photonic domains, international collaboration between researchers is limited while it is very important to ensure state-of-the-art research activities.
To be effective, an international collaboration project must be initiated and supported by individual researchers from the participating countries. Through the CA-FR-GE Young Photonic Researcher Workshop organized in parallel with LASER 2009, we will facilitate the networking of young researchers between them and with R&D organizations and will accelerate the development of new international collaborations.
The specific objective of the workshop is to increase the R&D collaboration in photonics between Canada, France and Germany by facilitating the networking between the young photonic researchers from each country, helping to identify common interests and providing support for the establishment of such international collaboration.
Four sessions are planned: - Sensors
- Biophotonics
- Optical communications
- Laser technology and laser processing

Saturday, June 13, 2009 Evening : Welcoming Event
Sunday, June 14, 2009 9 :00- 18:00 –Technical presentations in four sessions
(by 30 young photonic researchers,10 from each country)
18 :00-18 :30 Discussion on Follow-up actions
Monday, June 15, 2009 Pre-arranged meetings of groups of young researchers
and Tuesday, June 16, 2009 (meetings with R&D Organizations from each country at their Booth)

Selection of participants from each country will be based on submitted material, in particular on proposed research subjects with potential col¬laboration. If you are interested in participating, please send your title and abstract by May 31 (including name of applicant and your E-mail address) to a member of the organizing committee:
