[gloWIN] - OptoNet e.V. starts internationalisation project
With partners in North America, Japan and South Korea OptoNet will enforce international cooperation in photonics. As a funded project by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research the cluster will establish an internationalization strategy to strengthen and broaden its international position.
The cluster management of OptoNet will push international cooperations with partner regions in science and industry together with its cluster members. As a first step potentials are being analyzed to establish innovative R&D-projects based on the results. Furthermore workshops regarding internationalization topics like international marketing and business promotion are organised in 2016.
Contacts with innovative photonic partner regions like the USA (Rochester/New York), Canada (Québec, Ontario), Japan and South Korea will be intensified within the next two years. The goal is to create transnational R&D-cooperations in fields of materials, components and systems, optoelectronics and sensor technology. Experts regarding Intellectual Property and Financial Funding will support the process. Intercultural competences can be improved in workshops offered by OptoNet.
The project will contribute to a better understanding of internationalization topics which will facilitate future project ideas and outcomes.
Thuringia as a leading optics region can be considered the most innovative German place for photonic technologies. Around 170 companies and numerous scientific institutions work together in a highly innovative environment to face global challenges with high tech- solutions.
